Fresh scents of pine waft through the ducal palace in Umim. Ensconced within the great expanse of pine east of the Laside Mountains, Duke Jeckus Orentas spends his time hosting stately dinners, treating with envoys from the Wravem Remnants and Vriya.

Recently, rumors have begun to circulate that monsters are appearing out of The Barren Wastes to the south and from the Laside Mountains to the west and are abducting people from the villages in the borderlands at the frontier. While officially dismissing such rumors, Duke Jeckus has also stated that any evidence brought to him of this would be handsomely rewarded.
